i was to ring up AARON services ltd this morning - at just after 8am, to see what that 05/07 booking was all about...I was to ring the number given in the text....01473 835155

...to be told that it was the annual gas service check....and that it was an afternoon booking.

i explained that not only had i had no notification of the above...by phone/text/email/letter...(that text sent to my mobile yesterday hadn't mentioned what the 'job' might be - see previous notes and photo)...but that the whole of belle court might not have done - either...and wouldn't it be a shame if the gas engineer concerned...was to turn up...considering how difficult it is to find the place, anyway (i was to talk about mr donnell, in passing) to then find that nobody was 'in'...

oh and let us not forget that the booking has to be 'agreed' to by the tenant in terms of 'convenience'....i.e. AARON services ltd hadn't given me a chance to choose a particular date or time - morning or afternoon etc etc....they had just sent an ambiguous text 'a day early' and that was all. If i hadn't checked my phone - i would have missed it - go figure.

...the AARON customer service operative then appologised and asked me if i would be 'in' after the 15th of august....what a strange reply, eh?

slightly puzzled...i replied that i would be....and then asked what date....

she paused for a while and then said that the 22nd of august would be better, for some reason -better than what?...she could make a booking for monday morning, 8am-12pm of the 22nd of august...and there was something 'not quite right' in the way that she had said it...the 22nd of august...my sixth sense working here...why the 22nd?

anyway, i was to reply that the 22nd of august would be fine...and could she possibly send me a letter confirming the above...along with an email? she then asked for my email address...odd that...considering the fact that admin at AARON should already have it by now...but no, she only had a phone number for me...and so i then gave her my email address...go figure.

oh and just to make sure...i asked her for confirmation that it was simply the 'annual gas check' and not some 'emergency job' that mr donnell had spotted the other day - because he needed to come back to fix something else etc etc...to be told that it definitely wasn't an emergency and that it was only the annual gas boiler check number...go figure.
