let me guess...'mr fox'...that 'public schoolboy' antiques dealer had been a friend of the prague Rothschild, hadn't he?....and that room will be something to do with him....I can vaguely remember the fox....in connection to him...so I take it that he had 'done a runner' and left that stuff behind?
