....and there's more, dazzlenation...something around a very strange funeral - held for grandpa clayton.....for a start off....i was on a row, near to the back....with ed gyde, jeremy 'n' michael clayton, amongst others (shouldn't family be near to the front?).....sylvia, however - marched straight up to the front row and stood to the right (everybody was standing and not sitting before the service began)....the church was packed....jeremy was to tell me that the back row was for whoever, wanted to join the ceremony 'on spec' as it were....hmmm....so many men....tall men...i couldn't see what was going on, at the front...unless one of them ducked down to etc etc....oh and i couldn't hear the sermon, either....what i do remember hearing is...so many hymns....and oddly enough, those that i knew...were not accompanied by the usual melody.....in point, of fact - one of the hymns that i knew very well indeed...was not accompanied by the usual music....the music from another well-known hymn, was used instead...and so in short, i stopped trying to sing along....the others, in church, however....appeared to be used to it all....and there's more, dazzlenation.....and this is where it gets really weird....i now know that grandpa clayton had been forwarned....see previous notes upon uncle john (cambridge don - maths) and his sisters....'effie and kathleen'...and what they were to get up to, during the reception lunch, at a local restaurant....in short, a white package of 'bull's liver' had been left in the vestry, for them.....go figure:
