i can remember SP puzzling over the DAURANT reference....

and then i remembered EVANS from mi5 - in poland...with the 'french joos' such as nicholas campestre and his university friend muriel....

now evans used to say to me "whenever i see him - i can't stop laughing" and he wasn't being rude...so i began to scan for what had made him laugh so much....and then remembred the following:

campestre and muriel in evan's flat at hotelu asystencki....campestre was projecting CLOWN and bouncing up and down...whilst muriel opened and closed his flat door saying:

"DOOR - LA PORTE do you get it?"

EVANS kept on replying 'no'....he was bawling with laughter....perhaps a shot of the laughing gas?

all i know is that muriel was flashing a seaport - every time she said 'PORTE' for some reason....

and i 'know' that evans will be able to work out the DAURANT....'DOOR-ANT' reference...a seaport military ant....i would guess....
