anyway, my interest in looking up the school again, was to see how much it had changed and from the late 60s....hmmm....the part i had wanted to look at....was demolished some time ago now.....how do i explain the next bit?...well, i can remember presenting a 'bouncy ball' to the young james - his mother was to laugh....she had loved playing that game with a stocking.....we both laughed about how it had got banned at our respective schools...ed was to look bemused....a bit before his time...sue had been the same age as me.......anyway, what had i wanted to remember?...well, the 4th years had been banned from playing it (although ruthie stredwick had also bought in a stocking and bouncy ball - so that we could both have a 'go')..."caught at it"...yes, that's the interesting thing....and it was one of mr mills' set....remember the whole 'cathy bush' saga etc etc.....one of his, who had done it by mistake i.e. broken a window in a room above the outside wall of a classroom....ruthie was to say to me "where is that room?"...how can we get to it etc etc....lol...as it goes, eh?

and the song accompanying that ball 'n' stocking game?....hmmm....well, cathy bush was doing a more complicated counting game....which had included bouncing the ball above her head and to the sides....as toddy was to say....a bit of a pentagon number....more laughter...and then she bounced her ball too high and broke the window of the room above the downstairs wall....and er....well, a man appeared to be very surprised....you could hear him exclaiming and moving about afterwards etc etc....there weren't any male teachers at that school, late 60s - as far as i can recall...."anne's going to break the basement windows"...lol...go figure.
