and what's new this Monday morning, dazzlenation?...oh I see...your 'take' upon binchy 'n' plucknett.....and yes, I can see that binchy had a better life, out of the two of them...see previous posts....go figure:

and yes, I could expand a little upon the whole lot but I am loath to do so, dazzlenation...and so to cut a long story, short - to be classified as binchy's slave/ghost author-on-the-quiet, when young and I had been very young, dear reader...suffice to say - it blew my dreams of becoming an author of a 'classic' such as 'wuthering heights' or anything by Dostoyevsky LOL, to smithereens....what if anybody found out that I had written something by etc etc ?....anyway, at the time - it was all to make me laugh...having read one review of a book that I had slave-ghost-written for binchy...."yes, I know - if I don't do it, you will kill me" etc etc...which binchy had then 'edited' let us say...to make it sound a little bit more 'authentic'....and what did that particular review talk about....i'll make it concise...it ran along the lines of....binchy's book is so full of irish stereotypes that if she were not irish, herself - then one might etc etc...as it goes, eh?

oh and there's more...I hardly dare say it....anyway, I was to meet roz, outside of a certain slave-driving literary office, let us say...early days....she was to tell me that she would love to etc etc....see previous notes upon roz' love of folk-music/singing etc etc...all of the traditional stuff...including 'celtic whimsy'....and so I was to suggest - conspiratorially....that we must arrange a 'swap'...

additionally....see previous notes upon the Czech 'frosty' reception to Milan kundera's work....as well as a certain 'Milan kundera' novel written collectively, by the prague british council DTO team...and that is because we had obviously not got the 'Czech whimsy' right but then none of us had 'integrated' into Czech society, let us say...apart from susan Sinclair, who had married a Czech member of the KGB...in short, our students were to tell us that they all hated kundera's work...every single one - no 'positive' response to be had...it was not czech...it didn't tell them anything about themselves or their lives...they had no idea where it was coming from but kundera had spent many years in france, hadn't he? etc etc...anyway, nobody bought his books in the CR - or cared to read them and so what was all of the fuss about internationally? etc etc....

...let us 'reverse' the situation, now, see above - it must be really weird, mustn't it?...to have an author, whom the international community treat as a 'god-in-the-making' - who apparently typifies what you and your society/country are all about...and yet, you (and everyone that you know) as Czech citizens, for example....cannot find one identification point upon which to, collectively agree upon etc etc.....LOL...and that was 'the way that it was', in the late 90s....maybe times have changed?....who knows....go figure.
