i remember this one...during the time of the torture of those women by helen weale 'at the breakwater'....

and i might add that all of the women had been good Catholics....

the royals were to ask OPUS DEI a question:

"is capitol punishment a deterrent?"

they were supposed to debate the question for some reason....

anyway, it was settled easily - of course it was...but the point was this - that the question was the WRONG ONE....

'is it a deterrent?'....elicits the following ill cult response...the sort of response that those like my PR brother ed then say, along the lines of?

'but is it really? you see STATISTICALLY speaking...you cannot prove that it is...why some countries which have capitol punishment have much higher serious crime rates than those who do not have it'....

you see how it goes?

opus dei were to put the 'clowns' right upon that one...of course it is a deterrent...unless you have a massive death wish....

the question is not 'is it a deterrent' but do we want to behave in that way, as a society....as individuals....because barbaric acts - sensationalised by the media...can only have a harmful effect upon society as a whole....

people used to visit london gaols to 'see a hanging'.....people are allowed into the gallery to watch a televised ELECTRIC CHAIR execution in the USA....

is it right?

not 'is it a deterrent' because any fool knows that it is a deterrent...whatever age they might be....

OTHER NOTES:

having seen something of 'what it is like' in china....i wouldn't judge them in terms of how they keep 'law and order'...or how they do 'public health' for example....

all i would say is this...the 'barbaric primitive' in me...would like the british royals and their mafias all lined up....'like this' - with headphones on....

that is my emotional response but i also need to engage my brain - and so yes, i agree that within the UK we should never lower our humanitarian standards....apart from in 'some cases' let us say...whereupon i think that SCARLETT'S POLICE had the right idea....send them all to 'prison island' and then throw away the key.
