I was then told that there was an obvious connection between SWEDEN and JAPAN as in

...and NORWAY is the LAND OF THE MIDNIGHT SUN.

...okay, so I can remember being taught that SWEDEN ws the land of the setting sun...yet upon an internet search...I haven't found any corresponding articles yet...apart from this one which 'jokes' about JAPAN now being the 'land of the setting sun':
